The 26-year-old only joined Wolfsburg in the summer, after leaving champions Bayern Munich in hope of more regular first-team action.
Arsenal came close to signing the Brazil international, but he chose to reject the chance to join the Premier League to improve his odds of gaining a place in this summer’s World Cup.
Barca are now interested in bringing the defensive midfielder to Spain, but, despite being flattered in the interest from the Spanish giants, the Brazilian has revealed he would consider a move to any club that reaches his release clause.
“It’s always good to have your name linked to Barcelona,” He told Globo Esporte.
“This is the third time there has been interest from them.
“I have a long contract which includes a buyout fee, and if anyone wants to pay that, they can sign me.”
Gustavo has only won 16 caps for Brazil, so will need to impress on the main stage to qualify for selection, which Arsenal can offer as they compete at the top of the Premier League and in the knock-out stages of the Champions League.
