Arsenal have reportedly won the race over Tottenham Hotspur and AC Milan for Real Madrid’s Dani Ceballos.
The Gunners are expected to sign him on loan soon enough after engaging in a close battle with their direct rivals. Spurs have already signed Tanguy Ndombele and are pursuing Real Betis playmaker, Giovani Lo Celso now.
Arsenal have only signed Gabriel Martinelli so far in the 2019 summer transfer period from Brazilian outfit, Ituano FC. They still need to make improvements to their defence, attack and find a replacement for Aaron Ramsey.
Ceballos would be a wonderful addition and a massive upgrade to the midfield ranks. He could easily fit into Emery’s setup from the deep-lying creative role.
The Gunners will still look to develop the partnership of Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira but it would not hurt to have a more dynamic player like Ceballos in the squad. Reports claim that all has been done other than to get the final confirmation from Zinedine Zidane, who does not have much use for the 22-year-old anyway.
Unai Emery has promised the Arsenal fans that “big and expensive” signings are about to be made in the upcoming weeks. Ther supporters are heavily disappointed with the lack of transfer activity seen from their side all summer.
