Arsenal have reportedly begun talks with AS Monaco midfielder, Joao Moutinho, ahead of a proposed £30million move.
The Portuguese midfielder is widely expected to leave France in the New Year, and it’s suggested that he has already handed in a formal transfer request after seeing both James Rodriguez and Radamel Falcao leave in the Summer.
Falcao joined Manchester United on a season-long loan, whilst Rodriguez completed his move to Real Madrid, leaving Moutinho at Monaco.
The 28-year-old has been a long-term target of the Premier League, with Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea both previously interested, but according to reports, Moutinho’s agent has held transfer discussions with Arsene Wenger ahead of a proposed £30m move in January.
Moutinho would provide much-needed steel in the heart of the Arsenal midfield.
