The French winger who impressed last season has been long admired by Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, who reportedly made a bid in January.
Sociedad insisted Griezmann would stay but the North London side now feel they are able to lure the 18 year-old and have made a formal £18m bid.
The winger is hot property and is also being tracked by Italian champions Juventus who will reportedly match the offer of Arsenal but it’s throught that Griezmann would prefer a switch to the Premier League over Serie A.
The winger is quick, agile and has a keen eye for goal, plus he can play either on the wing or the classic number 10 role. His sharp attacking brain made him so deadly in La Liga last season and he netted 16 times with three assists.
If the deal is completed then he could follow team-mate Carlos Vela to the Emirates as the Mexican is wanted by his former side.
