Arsenal are close to signing another two players during the summer transfer window as Uruguayan midfielder Lucas Torreira and French midfielder Matteo Guendouzi are all set to undergo medicals at Arsenal on Monday.

Arsenal were already in talks with Sampdoria regarding Torreira before the World Cup took place. Both clubs have agreed on a fee of £26 million. The 22-year old was a regular for Sampdoria throughout the 2017-18 season scoring 4 goals in 36 league appearances. He came on as a substitute in Uruguay’s first two group matches at the World Cup. He was then a starter for Uruguay in their wins over Russia and Portugal and also in their quarter-final defeat to France.

France U-20 midfielder Matteo Guendouzi will join the club from Ligue 2 team Lorient. He played 17 matches for Lorient in the league, providing an assist as Lorient ended 7th in Ligue 2. The 19-year old has been hailed as a future star. Previously, Guendouzi liked a tweet which claimed that he has already completed a £7 million move to The Emirates.

Torreira and Guendouzi will be added to Arsenal’s summer transfers which already include Stephan Lichsteiner, Bernd Leno and Sokratis Papastathopoulos
