Debuchy’s £10m deal was thought close to being announced on Friday but was put back and will instead be revealed this week.

Newcastle search for a replacement is thought to have played a role in the agreement being postponed.

The Gunners are reportedly still in talks with Atleti over the deal surrounding Manquillo’s move to Emirates.

It’s understood that the teams are yet to agree on the inclusion of a permanent move options within the loan agreement.

The Gunners have a gaping void in the right back position after Bacary Sagna moved to Premier League rivals Manchester City on a free which Debuchy would be expected to fill.

Manquillo move to The Emirates will likely spell the end for Carl Jenkinson in the red of Arsenal, with both Stoke and Newcastle interested in the 22-year-old.

The Atletico defender has failed to dislodge Juanfran in the Spanish champions’ starting line up and was tipped to join Marseille before Arsenal made their interest known.

Arsene Wenger is also interested in brining in a holding midfielder and is ready to test Bayer Leverkusen over the availability of Lars Bender.

The Frenchman faces a battle to sign the injured Germany international, which will be made more difficult by the fact Bayer have just tied Bender down to a fresh contract extension.
