According to Sky Sports News, Arsenal are confident of wrapping up a double-deal for Newcastle United defender Mathieu Debuchy and FC Barcelona star Alexis Sanchez.
The Gunners have been quiet so far this Summer, but it’s believed to be behind them waiting until their official kit launch, which takes place on Thursday, and after that, two deals are expected to be announced to excite the Arsenal fans.
With Arsenal’s title-rivals already busy signing big, Arsene Wenger has taken his time to wrap up deals, but it now appears that Debuchy will be announced within the next 48-hours in a deal worth £10million, and the club are confident of wrapping up a deal for Sanchez, worth roughly £30m.
Debuchy is seen as Bacary Sagna’s replacement, after the Frenchman joined Manchester City, and Sanchez could be turned into a striker, as Wenger is keen to convert him from a winger, similar to what he did with club-legend Thierry Henry.
