The Gunners want to agree a deal to sign the defender in summer

Arsenal have moved a step closer to signing Kostas Manolas in the summer, with reports claiming a deal has been agreed.

Roma want to keep hold of the defender and they have been hoping to tie him down to a new deal this season, with his current contract set to expire in 2019.

There has been a lot of interest in him, which has led to Roma eagerly trying to ensure his long-term future is with them.

Deal worth around ÂŁ47m

However, according to WhoScored, a deal is in place to send Manolas to Arsenal when the season is over. The deal is believed to be worth around ÂŁ47m and the player himself is believed to be interested in a move to the Gunners.

Roma themselves may have to reluctantly let go of the 25-year old to help follow FFP rules.

They need to sell a player in order to try and adhere to them and either Manolas or Paredes – who has been a target for Liverpool in the past – may have to make way to help the club out.

With Arsenal very interested in signing the defender and with a deal reportedly already on the table, it looks like it will be tyhe former of the two players who could be saying goodbye to Roma in summer.
