Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey is set to miss the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City.

Ramsey has only made four appearances for the Gunners in 2018 due to a persistent groin problem. He will not be available for Sunday’s fixture, according to The Sun.

Ramsey has been working hard to rebuild his fitness and put himself in contention for the Carabao Cup final. But has failed to win Arsene Wenger’s confidence.

Arsenal face Ostersunds in the Europa League on Thursday evening and Wenger will continue his policy to rotate the squad. Mesut Ozil, Laurent Koscielny, Nacho Monreal and Hector Bellerin are all expected to be given the night off.

Petr Cech, meanwhile, has confirmed David Ospina will play for Arsenal in Sunday’s final against Premier League leaders City. “At the start, it was clear that it was going to be like that,” Cech said, referring to Wenger’s policy of playing Ospina in the cup competitions.

“I will be there with the team supporting but I don’t expect to play. It is always hard to watch any game from the bench or even from the stand if you are not selected.

“As a player, you always want to be involved but obviously you are in a professional club where there are 25 top players and the manager always makes his choices for the game and you need to accept that.”
