Arsenal deny Mesut Ozil reports

Stunning claims came out this morning that German had rejected contract offer

An Arsenal insider has dismissed reports claiming Mesut Ozil had rejected the club’s contract offer.

Reports emerged from Spain this morning claiming that the German play-maker rejected the club’s contract extension and told them he wanted to leave at the end of the season.

However, an insider at the Emirates Stadium has moved quickly to rubbish those reports and has insisted that talks between the club and Ozil haven’t even begun yet.

It’s well documented Arsenal want to tie both Ozil and Alexis Sanchez down on long-term deals, but they are adamant they won’t begin talks until the summer with the duo.

Ozil’s current contract still has two-and-a-half years left on it, so the club have been left befuddled by the reports suggesting he wants to leave.
