Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil to commit to the club
Arsenal Football Club are expected to announce that Alexis Sanchez has signed a contract extension at the club, with Mesut Ozil closely following behind.
The North London outfit are in formal talks with the star-duo, and according to reports, both are happy to put pen-to-paper on new deals.
Alexis has been at the Emirates Stadium for two seasons now, after arriving last summer, and officials at Arsenal want to reward him for his fine form with a new contract, running until 2020.
Arsenal spent £32million on the Chilean from FC Barcelona, and after an outstanding debut season, he’s followed it up with a solid second campaign, with six goals in his last six Premier League games.
With the new contract will come a pay-rise for Alexis, with his current £130k-a-week contract rising to £150k-a-week, making him one of the club’s highest paid players.
Ozil in line for New Deal
It’s also reported that Ozil will join his team-mate in signing a new deal at the club, with the German playmaker set to be offered a similar contract with a similar pay-rise.
Ozil has enjoyed his best spell in North London in recent weeks, assisting goals every week.
A formal announcement is expected to be made in the near-future.
