The Gunners are planning a move for Chelsea’s Charly Musonda Jr

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger tried to sign the 18-year-old from Anderlecht before he moved to Stamford Bridge.

The attacking midfielder would be the second player to move from Chelsea to Arsenal with goalkeeper Petr Cech on the verge of completing a move.

Musonda, who joined Chelsea back in 2012 along with his two older brothers Lamisha and Tika, was reportedly offered to Monaco as part of a deal to sign Radamel Falcao.

The former Anderlecht man is also said to be a transfer target for Ligue 1’s Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain but Arsenal are reportedly lining up a £8million move.

Arsenal raid on Chelsea

The Gunners are thought to be close to signing veteran goalkeeper Petr Cech, after the 33-year-old agreed personal terms this week.

Cech’s arrival seemed to be more obvious after there were reports Arsenal’s David Ospina had agreed a move to Fenerbahce.

The Chelsea stopper has made clear his desire to leave Stamford Bridge and seek more first-team opportunities after being understudy to Thibaut Courtois last season.

However, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho would prefer the Czech international to move to PSG instead of Premier League rivals Arsenal.
