Arsenal eye Gomis move

Arsenal are preparing a £6 million bid for Swansea City striker Bafetimbi Gomis it is rumoured.

The French striker only joined the Welsh outfit in the summer on a free transfer from Lyon, after previously courting interest from Newcastle United.

But, since his arrival at the Liberty Stadium, he has found first team opportunities limited due to the superb form of Ivorian Wilfried Bony.

The 29 year-old has started just five times for the Swans since his switch, but with Bony having completed a move to Manchester City earlier today, he should get more playing time.

However, this hasn’t thwarted Arsenal from making a move for the French international.

Arsene Wenger is eyeing up a January switch for the player, and Gomis has fuelled rumours by reportedly claiming that his agent has held talks with a “big club.”

“I know clubs have been speaking to my agent and my agent has been speaking to one very big club so we will see what happens.

“I believe I could do a job for most clubs and like any player I want to play in the Champions League.” Said the tall striker.

The striker almost netted his second Premier League goal in Swansea City’s 1-1 draw with West Ham United last weekend, but his header went down as a Mark Noble own goal.
