The Gunners ready to open talks with FC Barcelona
Arsenal are once again ready to open talks with FC Barcelona regarding the availability of Pedro.
The Gunners wanted to sign the Spaniard this time last year, but were informed by the winger that he doesn’t want to leave the Nou Camp. This then lead to Arsenal signing Alexis Sanchez instead in a deal worth £32million.
New Deal at Nou Camp
However, after another season on the bench behind the likes of Neymar, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi, it’s believed Pedro could be reconsidering his future, despite signing a four-year deal earlier in the campaign.
The 27-year-old is now tied down to Barca until 2019, but if a formal offer comes in from an interested party, they may choose to sell up.
Arsenal Interest
According to reports in England, Arsenal have made initial contact with Barca asking about the winger’s availability and whether he would be up for sale if the right offer came in.
Arsene Wenger is thought to be interested in reuniting Pedro with Alexis as he looks to build a title-winning team ahead of next season. The Frenchman has already signed Petr Cech from Chelsea as he looks to strengthen up the weak areas in his squad.
Release Clause
After signing his new deal, Pedro was given a release clause worth £110million.
