The Gunners are confident that they will land one of their transfer target in the summer. Arsenal are in pole position ahead of Juventus and West Ham in the race to sign Sporting Lisbon ace Cristiano Piccini according to The Sun.
Arsenal have already sent scouts to watch him and the player has reportedly impressed them, which have convinced the club to move for him. Hector Bellerin has been linked with a move to Barcelona and Juventus and if he is sold, the club believes Piccini could be the perfect replacement.
The 25 year old joined Sporting Lisbon from Real Betis last year for just £2.6 million. He has caught eyes with his performances and made 22 appearances for the club this season.
Sporting are willing to do business this summer and have set a £17.5 million asking price of the Italian, which is Arsenal are ready to pay to lure him away from Portugal.
Juventus and West Ham are also keen to sign him.
