Arsenal are hopeful that they can finally wrap up a deal for Sporting Lisbon midfielder, William Carvalho, with the two clubs set to hold talks this week regarding a potential transfer.
The Gunners have been keen on landed the Portuguese holding-midfielder for the past few months, and despite making two late bids on transfer deadline day, Arsenal failed to land their target.
However, Sporting officials are currently in England, and Arsenal are keen to hold talks with them over the week so that they could agree a deal in principle.
According to reports, Arsenal officials will hold talks with Sporting and will hopefully come to an agreement which could see the Portuguese international join the Premier League club in January.
Chelsea and Manchester United have also been interested in signing the 22-year-old.
