Arsenal are interested in signing Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford as they look for a replacement for Petr Cech, according to reports.
Arsenal stopper Cech has had his form called into question by some Gunners fans over the past month or so, with many believing he is no longer the goalkeeper he once was.
Jordan Pickford however, at the age of 23, is believed to be a keeper that will only get better with time, with many fans pointing him out as a potential future England #1.
Sunderland are currently facing a tough relegation battle, and if they are indeed doomed to the Championship, it would be no surprise if Pickford found his head turned by offers from other clubs, especially from a club like Arsenal.
It is the Sunderland Echo that report that Pickford is top of the list for potential replacements for Cech, who is currently out for Arsenal due to injury.
While some fans will feel this is a necessary move, many will feel Cech is more than capable of remaining Arsenal’s first choice between the sticks, thus, like with many things regarding Arsenal this season, this is sure to spark a lot of debate and differing opinions.
