It is thought that arsenal could still yet make a late move for Sporting Lisbon’s William Carvalho.
The Gunners, along with rivals Manchester United, have been linked with the midfielder all summer, but despite interest appearing to die down over the weekend, a move could still be on.
Arsenal fans are still desperatly hoping that their club will still be active in the window before it slams shut at 11pm tonight, with a new striker high on their wishlist.
But it appears Carvalho is the main man in boss Arsene Wenger’s sights, with a fee of around £25m being suggested, despite Sporting wanting £37m for the 22-year-old.
However, Arsenal could yet face competition from Manchester United among other top European clubs, after a host of scouts watched Carvalho in action against Benfica yesterday.
