Arsenal will make a January move for Everton star, James McCarthy, according to reports.
The Gunners are in the middle of an injury crisis, especially in the heart of midfield with; Mesut Ozil, Jack Wilshere, Abou Diaby and Mikel Arteta all sidelined for over a month, and with the latest blows to Wilshere and Arteta, it has left Arsene Wenger with just one defensive midfielder.
However, with the January transfer window just over a month away, Wenger is ready to make a formal move for McCarthy, who has continued to impress for Roberto Martinez’s men this season.
The North-London outfit have been linked with McCarthy since his Wigan Athletic days, but over fears of first-team football, the Irishman choice Goodison Park over the Emirates Stadium.
According to reports though, Arsenal are ready to renew their interest in the 24-year-old, but would have to stump up a fair sum in order to persuade The Toffess to allow their anchorman to leave half-way through the season.
