Ian Wright identifies youngster as Gunners target

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright has urged manager Arsene Wenger to sign Liverpool starlet Raheem Sterling this summer.

The 20-year-old has recently emerged as a surprise target for Arsenal going into next season, after it was rumoured the winger had turned down a ÂŁ100,000-a-week deal to stay at Anfield.

Wenger is understood to be keen on the striker, who has scored six league goals for the Reds this season, but a large fee would be demanded for Sterling.

“Come on Arsene! Go in and get “Raheem the dream Sterling” from Liverpool and play him where he wants!” Wright wrote on his Twitter page.

Theo Walcott’s Arsenal career has coincidentally been put into doubt at the same time as Sterling’s future at Liverpool, with the Reds reportedly interested in the Arsenal man.

But undoubtedly Liverpool will be doing their best to keep ahold of one of England’s top emerging talents, as they push for a place in the Champions League.
