Gunners will still look to add a striker in January
Arsenal have already made plans for the January transfer window by targeting Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi.
Arsene Wenger‘s men missed out on signing a star-striker throughout the summer after putting all eggs into one basket on the hope that they could land Karim Benzema.
However, the Frenchman confirmed on the night Arsenal took on Liverpool that he would not be leaving because Madrid is his new home.
According to reports, The Gunners turned their attentions to Edinson Cavani from Paris Saint-Germain, but all was too late for the club to wrap up a deal.
Icardi to Arsenal
Wenger is already putting plans into place for the January window, and he has Icardi on top of his list after the Argentinian netted 22-goals in Serie A last season, finishing top goalscorer.
Italian website Calciomercato are claiming that Wenger will renew his interest in Icardi in the New Year and is confident he can land him.
Arsenal were dealt a huge blow just days after the transfer window shut when it was announced that Danny Welbeck would be missing for months after undergoing knee surgery.
It leaves the club with Olivier Giroud as the only recognised striker.
