Dimitri Payet joined Marseille in the summer but has already been under some transfer speculation. It is reported that the French defender has been linked with Arsenal although the Gunners may face competition for his signature.
Payet, who reportedly earns a salary of €3m per year joined Marseille from Lille, where he was already heavily linked with a move to the Premier League. He is, however, one of Ligue 1’s top midfielders so competition to sign the 26 year old will be high.
He scored 12 goals last season for Lille and already has 4 goals and 3 assists for Marseille this season. He is also a regular starter for Jose Anigo’s side and has started all of their matches in the league this season.
Arsene Wenger will be keen to sign the winger as his side have suffered many injuries to key players, and Payet can provide a host of attacking talent to the Gunners.
