27-year-old Italian international, Antonio Candreva is staying at Lazio. Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs have all been keeping tabs on the enigmatic winger, but the news today of a five-year deal will disappoint all three.
Candreva will join Miroslav Klose at the summit of the Serie A outfits pay structure. As well as winning 23 caps for the Italian national side, Candreva has notched up 21 goals in just 87 league appearances for the team from Rome, and his excellent form last term sparked huge interest from the Premier League giants.
‘I have had an important meetingwith the club’ he said. ‘I have renewed the contract with Lazio, I am really happy.’
‘I thank the president for keeping his word, despite the many rumours that there were. I seemed I had bought houses in every city. I want to celebrate this renewal with a win at [Palermo].’
The three Premier League clubs will be left to look elsewhere it seems.
