Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed that they are in talks with Borussia Dortmund for star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Arsene Wenger has confirmed they are in talks with the German club for Aubameyang and says that a deal for the Gabon international is possible in the next eight days.
Asked if he thought a deal could be concluded for the star, Wenger said:Â “Confident or not confident, I don’t know. You never know how close you are.
“This is the kind of thing – he is one of the possible movements, but we have other things in mind as well. We have plenty of opportunities and the final decision is not made.
“At the moment we are not close to any deal, Aubameyang or anybody else.”
And asked if the deal would involve Olivier Giroud going the other way, Wenger replied:Â “The negotiations are not as far as that.”
Club officials have been in Germany licked in talks with Dortmund chiefs. The 28-year-old has been desperate to complete a move away from the club and has missed important club meetings recently which Dortmund chiefs were unhappy about.Sporting director has even said that he believes Aubameyang’s head has been turned and is focused on a move away from the club.
