Gunners hoping to fend off Barcelona and Man City

Arsenal are hoping that right-back Hector Bellarin will sign a new contract in the near future in order to fend off advances from Barcelona and Manchester City for the Spaniard.

Bellarin still has 3 years left on his current deal, and has been the subject of interest from the big clubs in Europe, including Barca and Man City.

It’s thought that official negotiations will begin after the upcoming international break. A pacy player, Bellarin has quickly become one of the best right backs in Europe with remarkable progression in the past two years.

That has drawn Barcelona’s interest, which is the club he started his young career before moving to Arsenal as a teenager.

City also made contact in the summer which is believed to have infuriated Arsenal and they were told in no uncertain terms he was not for sale.

Arsenal are now prepared to do everything to keep him by offering a significant pay rise to put him high up Arsenal’s pay scale.

Arsenal are also hoping to tie down star duo Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez to new deals as both of their contracts expire in 2018.

Talks are underway with both and they are hopeful both will sign which would be another strong message of intent.
