Arsenal planning a summer move for Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno

Arsenal identifies Bernd Leno as Peter Cech’s successor

Arsenal are preparing a £25 million summer move for Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno according to Sun Sport.

The Club’s Chief Scout,Sven Mislintat has identified the German goalkeeper as Peter Cech’s successor.Sven was behind for the deals of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

As Peter Cech continues to struggle in the Premier League and his contract about to expire in the summer of 2019,Arsenal need to reinforce their Goalkeeper Position.

With the likes of Liverpool and Napoli also interested in the 26 year old goalkeeper,Arsenal need to move quick to make the transfer happen.

After playing for 7 years at Bayer Leverkusen,Leno has made clear that he wants a new challenge.

– “I have often said that playing abroad is tempting for me,” Leno said. “But right now, I am not wasting too much time on those thoughts. First of all, I want to return to Champions League with Bayer Leverkusen.”

He also believes that a big money move will improve his chances to play more for German National Team.He is Germany’s third choice keeper after Manuel Neuer and Marc-Andre ter Stergen.

Leno’s contract runs until 2020 and has buy-out clause of just £22 million.
