Arsenal are preparing to make a £7.5million bid for long-term target Clement Grenier from French side Lyon.
The Gunners have been interested in the midfielder for numerous years now, but were put off last Summer when he was valued at £30m by his club.
However, Arsene Wenger has still shown interest in the 23-year-old, and is keeping tracks on his recovery from injury, which kept him out of the World Cup after originally being named in Didier Deschamp’s French squad.
Wenger is keen to add him to his Arsenal side, who ended their nine year trophy drought last season, and he is keen to make him Mikel Arteta’s long-term replacement, who is set to leave the club next year, once his contract expires.
The Gunners are also showing interest in Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin, but Grenier may be the cheaper option.
