Arsenal put £1 million fee on Campbell, amid Galatasaray interest

Arsenal have placed a £1 million valuation upon forward Joel Campbell, with Turkish club Galatasaray keen on the Costa Rican international. 

Reports in the Turkish media suggest that the Istanbul club are looking at Campbell as a replacement for striker Didier Drogba, with Drogba returning to Chelsea on a one year deal last week.

Arsenal are looking to off load Campbell after signing Alexis Sanche from Barcelona for a large fee. Campbell enjoyed a superb World Cup Finals with Costa Rica, having helped the Central American nation to a historic quarter final place.

But Galatasaray face stiff compeition from Everton, Newcastle, Southampton, West Ham and fellow Turkish side Fenerbahce are also keen on the 22 year old, with Italian Serie A side AC Milan leading the que having already submitted an offer.

Recently appointed Galatasaray boss Cesare Prandelli, who replaces fellow Italian Roberto Mancini, has been given the go ahead to pursue an offer.

Campell enjoyed a fine loan spell at Greek side Olympiakos last season, scoring 12 goals in 40 appearances for the Athens based club.
