Arsenal ramp up interest in Douglas Costa

According to reports, Arsenal are set to ramp up their interest in Shakhtar Donetsk striker Douglas Costa.

It was reported yesterday that the Premier League outfit were considering a ÂŁ15.8million bid for the centre-forward, and with Costa reportedly not willing to go back to Ukraine due to the political issues, a deal could be done between the two clubs.

The Ukranian side are confident that they can keep the Brazilian, but reports in Italy are suggesting that Arsene Wenger is seriously interested in the 23-year-old, and is heavily considering ramping up his interest with a formal bid.

Wenger has been busy this Summer signing four players already for Arsenal, but it’s believed he’s still in the market for a striker and also a holding-midfielder.

If Arsenal can wrap up a deal for Costa, it will likely see Joel Campbell leave for AC Milan on another season-long loan, despite him impressing for Costa Rica at the World Cup.

Milan are keen on landing the Costa Rican and would ideally want a permanent deal, but Arsenal are only willing to do business if it’s a loan-move.
