Arsenal have made Southampton star Morgan Schneiderlin as their top summer target and believe that they are capable of fending off interest from Barcelona.
The Gunners have been keeping tabs on the Frenchman for many months now, with some recent reports suggesting that the player’s personal terms have already been agreed.
It is also now understood that Arsene Wenger is willing to pay whatever is takes in order to tempt Schneiderlin to stay in the Premier League.
Reports in Spain have suggested that Barcelona had emerged as candidates for the midfielder’s signature, with the Spanish giants believed to be preparing a £21.9 million pound bid.
However, Arsenal believe that they can fight off any interest and capture the wanted star.
