The young Italian forward has seen his first team chances limited over the past year, first by the arrival last January of Mario Balotelli and then by the summer capture of Alessandro Matri and the resurgence of Brazilian Robinho.
Indeed El Shaarawy, who finished last season at the club’s top scorer, has started just one Serie A fixture this season and though the 21 year old has spent time out injured the majority of the time he has still not fought his way into the team when fully fit.
This source believes that AC Milan are ready to accept a cut-price deal for El Shaarawy and he may well prove an intelligent bit of business for Arsene Wenger to consider.
A move for the AC Milan man would clearly not only beef up the Arsenal attack but would also adhere to Arsene Wenger’s youthful transfer policy.
