Arsenal are set to make a January move for Barcelona forward Munir El-Haddadi.

The 19 year-old has had a storming few months, forcing himself into the first-team plans of manager Luis Enrique. He even scored his first goal for the Catalan giants in the 3-0 win over Elche last month.

Now, with new big-money signing Luis Suarez available for selection late next month, it seems that El-Haddadi will be forced back down the Nou Camp pecking order. He has a ÂŁ10M release clause in his contract, and could follow former team-mate Cesc Fabregas to London, with Arsenal keen to meet the clause.

Enrique has pleaded with the club’s board to keep El-Haddadi, but with future first-team prospects looking bleak, the chances are that the starlet will move.

El-Haddadi joined the famed Barca youth academy in 2011, has one cap for the Spanish national team, and has been praised by team-mates including Lionel Messi.

Fabregas, who joined Chelsea this summer from Barcelona, has also lavished praise on the forward. He said “Munir is really something special. From what I have seen, he is a really good player.

“It’s all gone pretty fast for him, but already people have only been saying good things about him. He can play both on the wing and in the centre. His awareness and movement are superb, and he is excellent at finding space.”
