Arsenal are reportedly set to outbid Manchester United in the race for Barcelona full-back Dani Alves.
The talismanic Brazilian is out of contract at the end of the season and Alves’ agent has been putting out feelers for a new clubs for some time now.
United had looked the favourites to seal the Barcelona man’s signature with a £15.6m deal on the table, but reports in Spain suggest that Arsenal are willing to offer Alves a higher salary in order to tempt him to the Emirates.
Alves can sign a pre-contract with any club and will move for nothing in the summer should he decide to do so.
