With a crucial season ahead of them to surpass Manchester City as the most feared squad in England, Arsenal is looking forward to the summer transfer window.
Thomas Partey is played in less than 20 league games this season, due to his injuries. Given his importance to the squad and Arteta, Arsenal may now regret not trading him. Partey’s contract has one more season left, and Arsenal is apparently looking to replace him.
Additionally, Arteta has already identified a potential replacement for the Ghanaian midfielder in Martin Zubimendi, a proven La Liga midfielder. The proceeds from the sale of Partey will go directly towards financing Real Sociedad’s midfielder.
Arsenal wants to sign Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi
According to the report, Arsenal is considering a valuable deal to sign Zubimendi in the summer, with Mikel Arteta looking to strengthen his squad ahead of another title push next season.
Since making his debut for the club as a 20-year-old back in 2019, Martin Zubimendi has nearly 200 appearances for the team and five caps for Spain, where he has played midfield alongside City star Rodri, earning praise from the latter for being “world class.”
The 25-year-old Spanish player, who has developed into a star player at Sociedad and whose contract is now slated to expire in 2027, is apparently eager to work alongside Mikel Arteta. Despite Zubimendi’s opposition to a move in the summer, Arsenal is optimistic that they can convince him to come at season’s end.
