Gunners shareholder Alisher Usmanov is confident that manager Arsene Wenger can restore Arsenal’s glory days.

The Gunners currently top the Premier Leeague following a 3-0 win away at Cardiff and have almost guaranteed qualification from their Champions Legaue group. There has been some focus on an extension to his ÂŁ7.5 million deal past the end of the season. As for now though, Wenger insists now is not the time to focus on anything but ending their trophy drought and bringing success to The Emirates.

During the summer transfer window, Arsnela broke their transfer recored by signing German midfielder Mesut Ozil for ÂŁ42m which Usmanov feels was a very good bit of business by Wenger and a step in the right direction.

“If I am [a] fan, if I am [a] shareholder and my team is in position number one, of course I am very happy. I hope this result keeps on until the end of the season. I wish this [for] my club.”

“The club and team demonstrate Arsene Wenger’s capacity to be number one. This is Wenger’s responsibility and his vision.”

“He does not every time have the possibility to solve this. Now I think he has this possibility and we support every effort to make our club [the] best.”
