Arsenal’s summer signings Mesut Ozil and Mathieu Flamini are both adamant that the club can end their trophy droubt this summer and they are ready to help the club achieve that feat.
Flamini re-joined The Gunners on a free transfer this summer after leaving AC Milan and he was then joined by Ozil after the German international signed on transfer deadline day for a whopping £42.million.
Arsene Wenger’s side haven’t won a trophy since the 2005 FA Cup, but the two new signings are both targeting titles this year and they both believe that it can be achieved.
Flamini said: “Our ambitions are clear, as the arrival of Mesut Ozil has proved. To fight for the title and compete in the Champions League. We want to win trophies. The club has waited for them for too long.
“We have the means to compete for the title, even if we are outsiders, not favourites, like in 2007-08. That is my motivation. I want to write another beautiful story with Arsenal.”
Ozil, who signed from Real Madrid, added: “In the last few years, Arsenal haven’t been so successful but we want to become more successful.”
