Premier League side Arsenal have been told by Seria A champions Juventus that they must buy striker Mirko Vucinic rather than loan him.

The Gunners are keen to add to their attacking options in January and have been linked with the likes of Diego Costa, Dimitar Berbatov and now Vucinic, but any potential loan deal for the 30-year-old is now off the table as Juve are only willing to sell the Montenegro international on a permanent basis.

It has been reported that officials from Arsenal met with Juventus general manager Beppe Marrota in London to discuss a potential deal and it is understood that the Italian outfit want around ÂŁ8million for the striker.
