Speaking in an open interview with France Football magazine, the Newcastle loanee ruled out a transfer to the Magpies and said:

“I’ll play for one of Europe’s big five, or a very big club at least.”

Currently on loan at Newcastle following Queens Park Rangers’ relegation to the second tier of English football last season, Rémy has scored 13 of Newcastle’s 37 Premier League goals this season – his 35% of the club’s goals is more than any other Premier League player.

Arsenal have been strongly linked with a move for the striker, especially with reports that he has an £8 million buy-out clause in his contract.

The Gunners currently have Olivier Giroud, Yaya Sanogo, Nicklas Bendtner and Lukas Podolski on their books. Bendter is expected to leave at the end of the season whilst Podolski is strongly linked with a move to richly-funded Internazionale.

Arsenal are on course to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League and a favourites to win this season’s FA Cup. The attraction of European football is more than both Newcastle and Queens Park Rangers can offer the highly-rated striker.
