Liverpool legend says four signings are needed
Arsenal need to land world superstars like Paul Pogba, Karim Benzema, Petr Cech and Diego Godin in the upcoming summer transfer windows if they want to be contenders for the Premier League title next season says pundit Jamie Carragher.
The Gunners are in great form after winning their last eight games and currently sit in second place, behind leaders Chelsea.
However, Arsenal are still 10 points behind Chelsea and Arsene Wenger’s side could have been more of a challenge to Jose Mourinho’s men this season if they were consistent in the first part of the season.
Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has named the players in which he thinks could improve the Gunners’ future title hopes.
Carragher’s Transfer Advice
He said: “Wenger still needs to buy a new No 1 if they are to be title challengers. Petr Cech would be an ideal candidate to come in.
“Why doesn’t he go for Paul Pogba? If they needed to sign Ozil two years ago, their need to sign Pogba this summer is even greater. Diego Godin of Atletico Madrid is 29 and at the peak of his powers. He would be ideal at the heart of the defence.” he added.
The former Liverpool defender and England international credited Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud for his form this season but said that Wenger needs to think about improving his attacking positions.
“Imagine what Luis Suarez, Sergio Aguero or Karim Benzema could do for Arsenal?” Carragher continued.
