Gunners ready to splash-out on Borussia Dortmund striker
Arsenal have reportedly entered the race to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The 26-year-old has been in lethal form this season, scoring 24 goals in 23 games, making him one of the most red-hot strikers so far this campaign.
Aubameyang has been linked with a move to the Premier League over the past few months, with the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool both linked with making formal moves for him.
However, the latest reports have Arsenal going bid in order to sign him with Arsene Wenger keen on adding to his attacking depth.
The Gunners are heavily reliant on Olivier Giroud and also Theo Walcott, but with injuries a real issue at the Emirates, Wenger wants to add another option to his attack.
According to The Sun, a source has told them that talks between Arsenal and Dortmund have begun and Wenger is very keen to secure the deal despite the hefty price-tag.
Source Reveals Talks
A source told The Sun: “An intermediary has made contact with Dortmund about Pierre-Emerick making a move to Arsenal.
“Wenger knows the fee is very high — yet this is a striker who can make a massive difference for him and help win the title for the first time in 12 years.
“But there is a lot of interest in him.”
