Arsenal to make £25m Balotelli bid

Arsenal look set to steal a march on Monaco by making a £25m bid for Mario Balotelli. The striker could be on his way out of current club AC Milan this summer, with new boss Filippo Inzaghi not desperate to keep hold of him according to numerous reports.

That has seen a rise in interest for the former Man City player with Arsenal and Monaco (and previously Liverpool) all keeping an eye on the situation. Reports from France had suggested Monaco were prepared to swap Falcao for the Italian. Now Arsene Wenger is stepping in as he prepares to offer £25m for the forward, to try and scupper any potential move to Ligue 1.

That amount of money may not be enough compared to what Monaco are believed to be offering, but Puma could be willing to support a potential Gunners move for the 23-year old. The company signed a deal in January to become the new kit supplier for Arsenal, while they also have an endorsement deal with Balotelli.

Now, the wait is on to see which of the two sides can snatch the signature of the young Italian.
