Arsenal to make £50m move for out of favour Cavani

Arsenal are lining up a £50m bid for Paris St Germain striker Edinson Cavani.

The Uruguayan has fallen out of favour with manager Laurent Blanc at the French club, and the relationhip between the two is thought to have been strained for some time.

Rumours at the club indicate that Blanc is thought to prefer Sweden’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Cavani, and coupled with Cavani being played out of position more often than not.

Manchester United and Liverpool were also thought to be in the frame for Cavani, but Arsenal seem to have jumped ahead in the chase for the former Napoli forward.

The Gunners are in need more of cover in the centre of defence and a defensive midfielder, but the funds are there for a marquee signing.

Blanc has spoken of his need to be more ruthless in order to guide the club to success. And it seems that Cavani may be a casualty of this philosophy.
