Reports claim that Arsenal are considering to make an attempt to sign Atletico Madrid star Filipe Luis.  The Brazilian’s current contract at Atletico expires at the end of this season. During the summer transfer window, Luis was linked to Paris Saint-Germain.

The reports claim that Unai Emery wants to have some better full-back options. Arsenal’s current left-backs include Sead Kolasinac and Nacho Monreal. While Kolasinac is out injured, Monreal has been doing a decent job so far. He scored a goal in Arsenal’s 3-1 win over West Ham.

Atletico Madrid are reportedly willing to accept an offer below Luis’ release clause of €30 million Euros.

Filipe Luis first joined Atletico Madrid from Deportivo La Coruna in 2010. He was at the club till 2014 before moving to Chelsea on a transfer fee of ÂŁ15.8 million. He played only one season at Chelsea where they won the Premier League and the League Cup before returning to Atletico.

The left-back has played a total of 303 matches for Atletico Madrid across all competitions. He has 10 goals and 27 assists to his name. This season, he started in two of Atletico’s three La Liga matches.

Filipe Luis is currently with the Brazil national team at United States. Brazil will play two friendlies against USA and El Salvador tomorrow and Tuesday respectively. With Marcelo omitted from the squad, Filipe Luis will most likely start for Brazil.
