Arsenal are set to launch a £9million bid for Newcastle United midfielder, Cheick Tiote.
The Magpies hardman has become a crucial part of the starting XI at St James Park due to his tough and physical presence, but with confusion regarding the future of the club, a transfer away could arise with three Premier League sides interested.
As well as Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool are also showing interest in the midfielder.
According to reports, The Gunners are ready to bid £9m for the 28-year-old and have already held brief talks with the player’s representatives.
The same report goes on to say that Tiote wants a three-and-a-half-year deal worth £80k-a-week, which would be a substantial rise on his current salary.
Tiote is currently away on international duty with Ivory Coast in the African Cup of Nations.
