The Gunners want right-back to commit before going out on loan again
Arsenal are set to offer Carl Jenkinson a new deal upon his return from the Under-21 European Champions, before sending the full back on loan for the season.
Jenkinson spent last campaign on loan at West Ham United, and the club are keen to send the 23-year-old out on loan once more so he gets more playing time.
Interest in Jenkinson
Sunderland are supposedly interested in the right back, however Arsene Wenger is eager to tie the defender down to a new contract as he sees his future at the North London club.
Competition for Places
He faces competition from Calum Chambers, Mathieu Debuchy and Hector Bellerin, but the manager believes the Englishman can come good if he’s offered more playing time in the meantime.
