Gunners eye Gonzalo Higuain or Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Arsenal look set to spend big on a new striker this summer after previously failing to land one in recent summer transfer windows.

The Gunners have been in the window for a new striker for the past few seasons, but over time, they’ve missed out on the likes of Gonzalo Higuain, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Luis Suarez and Karim Benzema.

However, according to reports today, Arsene Wenger is ready to go big this summer on signing a world-class striker which could replace Olivier Giroud in the first-team.

It’s reported that Wenger will look at Higuain once again from Napoli, and Aubameyang again from Borussia Dortmund, with the duo both enjoying fine seasons for their respective clubs.

Arsenal Eyeing Striker Duo

Wenger and Arsenal have acknowledged the fact it will be a tough ask to lure either Higuain or Aubameyang to the club, with both content at their current clubs, but they will offer big money in the hope they can strike a deal.

The majority of Arsenal fans have been calling out for a world-class striker over the past few seasons, but in each transfer window, the club have failed to bring one in, with Danny Welbeck the only striker signing for a few years.

With reports claiming a striker is top of the agenda, it could see to the end of Giroud‘s time as a regular in the first-team.
