BORUSSIA MONCHENGLADBACH have issued very strong ‘hands off’ statement to all clubs chasing star midfielder Granit Xhaka.
Xhaka has been attracting a lot of interest from a number of top teams, including Premier League giants Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City.
It was revealed last month the Gunners were leading the chase and have a deal in motion for the Swiss international which is set at £36million.
It’s been rumored that the 23-year-old is being targeted as a long-term replacement for Mikel Arteta who is now expected to leave at the end of this season.
However, it seems Gladbach are not willing to part ways with their star man following statements from the club’s director of sport Max Eberl.
“Xhaka is our captain. That should be the case next season,” he said.
“There’s no need to call us. We want to keep him. There are no discussions.”
Xhaka is currently under contract until the summer of 2019 , However he has a release clause in the region of £35m.
