Arsenal are looking towards Hull youngster Andrew Robertson, with an eye towards a potential £10m move.

Robertson has impressed since his £2.85m transfer from Scottish side Dundee United in the summer, and a move to FA cup holders Arsenal would cap a remarkable rise to prominence for the 20 year old left back.

After being released by Celtic aged 15, Robertson joined Scottish minnows Queens park before moving to Dundee in 2013. His form last season caught the attention of Hull’s scouts, who persuaded Steve Bruce to bring him in during the transfer window. Since his move to the Tigers he has settled in brilliantly, with some performances that have belied his relative inexperience.

Speaking about the young star, Bruce was full of praise. “Andrew has totally shocked me with his ability to play at the top level. We’ll make sure we keep his feet on the ground because he’s a fantastic talent. He’s a humble lad and he just wants to play football which is quite refreshing these days.”

“I think it would be unfair to Andrew to compare him to anyone at the moment but, if he keeps improving – which he will – he’ll fill out and get bigger and quicker. He’s as quick as any full back I’ve seen. He can only get better.”

Bruce was speaking before Hull’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal yesterday which saw the pressure build on Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.
