A club source has reportedly told The Sun they’re not interested in Vidal

Juventus’ Arturo Vidal was poised to join Arsenal in a £21million move, according to reports in Chile.

Today’s development would seem to rubbish claims by Chilean newspaper La Stampa that Vidal is joining Alexis Sanchez at the Emirates next season.

Juventus are reportedly interested in Bayern Munich’s Medhi Benatia, who is rated at around £17.5million, and could use the money from selling Vidal to land the Morocco international.

Freddie Ljungberg: Vidal would be ‘great’

Arsenal legend Freddie Ljungberg has recently spoke about the Chile international saying he would be a good acquisition for Arsene Wenger.

“He gets fuming if he loses the ball, so I like that, that kind of player would be great for the club” said Ljungberg.

“I hope they can challenge for the Premier League title. I think in one or two years we’ll have a squad that’s going to compete with anyone.

“With one or two signings here and there, we can get a stronger squad. We’re getting there and I’m really looking forward to the next couple of years.”

Arsenal want Ausburg defender

Abdul Rahman Baba who was seen as one of the stand-out players in the Bundesliga last season has been linked with a move away this summer.

The 20-year-old has previously been linked with a £11million move to Chelsea but the Gunners now appearing to be leading the race for Baba.
