Arsene Wenger recently confirmed that Jack Wilshere was absent from Arsenal’s 3-1 win against Chivas on monday after the midfielder sustained a knee injury.

News such as this will worry Arsenal fans, as the England youngster is definitely prone to injuries, missing almost all of the last two seasons.

Wilshere made it into Roy Hodgson’s somewhat controversial Euro 2016 squad, and played a part in a few games- putting him back on the radar for Arsenal and England fans alike.

However, despite this fresh injury blow, Wenger is feeling positive about the chances of Wilshere playing a part in the rest of pre season, along with making a start to the 2016/17 season.

‘It’s a slight patella problem but I think he should be with us on tour on Thursday,’ said Wenger.

‘I hope he will be.’
